Our History |

 In
August of 1962 Jerry Rollins and
Karen Rogers were getting
married and looking for a new
place to live. Jerry and his
father Raymon (nicknamed
"Guinea") went to a Nashua home
factory in Macon, Georgia where
they decided to buy a new mobile
home. |

That
same day the salesman convinced
Guinea to buy four additional
homes, and Bowdon Mobile Home
Sales was created. |
|
|
|
As
the business grew over the
years, many changes were made at
Bowdon Mobile Homes. It was
moved from its original location
to its current home on the edge
of Bowdon. The business also
went through a name change,
incorporating and becoming the
current Five Star Manufactured
Homes, Inc. When Raymon Rollins
passed away in 1994, the
business was continued on by his
son, Jerry, and his daughter,
Patty Akin. Today they head up
the day to day operations of
Five Star, and are the driving
force behind the business. |

Five
Star has sold over 7000
homes valued at over $85
million. Although most
of the customers have
been from the West
Georgia and East Alabama
areas, some homes have
been delivered as far
north as Toledo, Ohio,
and as far south as
Miami, Florida. Five
Star has always stressed
a high level of service
with their home sales,
and has been able to
maintain that standard
with an experienced
set-up crew and
knowledgeable service
and repair crews. |

As
a way to further commit
to a standard of
continued service, Five
Star Manufactured Homes
became a distributor for
Stylecrest in 2005.
Stylecrest is one of the
largest distributors of
Manufactured Homes parts
and supplies, with a
catalog spanning
plumbing, heating and
air, exterior
accessories, doors,
windows, and much more. |

Five
Star also carries inventory from Tri
State Distributors, Prime Supply and
Posey Supply, giving them one of the
most comprehensive parts inventories
available. |

and servicing homes since 1962, and will
continue to do the same for years to
